Community Workshops

Trainings & Workshops

Community programming defines over a decade of passion-driven work, connecting people of various ages and backgrounds to engage in inclusive and inspiring programs that spark joy and have the power to transform lives.

Empowering audiences to make meaningful projects starts with establishing inclusive culture, safety protocols, shop etiquette, and scaffolded tool training. The pedagogy and philosophy of these trainings is premised in every individual having their own learning style, background of experience, and personal goals. I lead teams to meet people where they are with general safety overview and specific tool use training followed by open hours of Guided Access to the makerspace, tools, experts, and software to bridge theory and practice.

At BLDG 61 we offered official tool trainings for laser cutters, CNC machines, screen printing, woodshop equipment, welding, and more biweekly with over 16 hours of staff supported Guided Access weekly for patrons to sign up and build their proficiency, practice their craft, exchange skills with others, and make amazing projects come to life in a supported learning environment.

Additionally, we offered themed workshops (make-and-takes) every week to expose patrons to new tools, techniques, and possibilities.

At The Possible Zone (educational nonprofit in Boston) we integrate similar trainings and workshops into our immersive 12-week entrepreneurship modules and deep dive tracks.
